CLARK family in Paisley, Renfrew in 1841

Hello,

I am making progress with this family.

Thomas ANGEL and spouse Mary CLARK named their children:

Thomas
Sarah Nicol
Daniel
Samuel
Stephen

It comes as no surprise that Mary's parents are Daniel CLARK and Sarah NICOL (NEKOL). Mary's sister Margaret married a Stephen GIFFORD. Surprise, surprise

Some of their children but not Mary appear as extracted records in IGI with the name CLEARK. Some of the privately submitted records have the name as CLERK.

Please see if you can find Daniel and Sarah in 1841. (My GGGG grand parents)

Sorry Dave, not being up to speed on your previous threads, are we looking for Daniel Clark with wife Sarah? Or have I misread the info?
Also when where they born?

Hello Lincoln Lad,

Daniel married Sarah on 18 Jan 1785 Abbey Paisley, Renfrew.

One privately submitted IGI entry has about 1767 for the birth of Daniel. Apart from daughters Mary who married Thomas ANGEL and Margaret who married Stephen GIFFORD I have no information about the fate of their other children, Archibald, John, Sarah, Janet, Elizabeth & Daniel.

It's possible both Daniel and Sarah died before 1841.

Thanks for looking. Please see if you can find any of the children just in Renfrew in 1841 - Archibald, John, Sarah, Janet, Elizabeth & Daniel - CLEARK, CLERK, CLARK.

I'm fishing for a DOW and a CLARENDON. Like GIFFORD they are middle names for some ANGEL children.

I need a given name and a family name to go with the family names I'm searching for to enter in IGI. Does that make sense?

Without rough dates of birth for the children, it will be difficult to pinpoint and be certain of them, just had a look and found a possible Archibald Clark aged 50 in 1841, Paisley Middle, b Renfrewshire who is an Ag Lab, living with a family of Reith's in Carlisle Place.

There is a John Clark age 45 with a Mary Clark aged 43 and Hugh Clark aged 10 at 35 Glenn Street Paisley High who is a Railway Constabb.

Cannot of course be certain if they are the children of Daniel and Sarah.

Archibald b. 1786 very few
John b. 1789 too many probably to be sure
Mary b. 1791 ditto
Sarah b. 1793 ditto
Janet b. Dec 1795 about 5
Elizabeth b. 1797 too many
Daniel b. Jan 1804 possibly only 3

Dave, have you considered that the females may be married by 1841?

Cannot find an Archibald of around the correct year, one 1791 and one 1829 in Paisley Middle. Only sign on any Daniel around the right age is one born 1806 living in Paisley Low, with Elizabeth Clark age 35, Christian Clark age 5, Agnes Clark age 3 and Elisabeth Clark age 1, also with then is Janet Clark age 27.

Thanks for looking. Yes some could have married and all could have died by 1841. I'm searching for a CLARK connection to DOW and CLARENDON. Please have a look for those familiy names and see if by chance any are living with a CLARK.
