Talking Good manners.

I have made several 'replies' for requests, as have many of others on this site. Whether my/your replies are helpful, interesting or rubbish, an acknowledgement would be rather nice.

There are so many helpful people on this site who give a lot of time and effort to help anybody who need assistance. So I feel it is common courtesy to acknowledge them.

I will help and always will, but when I get taken for granted then the 'offender' will be ignored by me in the future.

This site is built on the principle of . That also means, I believe, moral and polite attitudes and even a bit of fun.

'These' people are few and far between, so please if you are reading this remember those who have helped you and respond with a thanks, if you have not already.

I'm off my soapbox now.

Steve.

Re: Good manners.

I don't think most people mean to be rude. It's just remembering to reply back when you have such a busy life. If I haven't acknowledged anybody who has worked hard to help me I appologise and I certainly don't hold it against anybody who has done the same to me.

Hi DW,

Oh yeah, totally agree. But if someone has gone to the trouble of 'posting' then surely they will eventually come back to it for the answer.
We all forget on the odd occasion, no one is perfect.

It's just a little common courtesy is all thats required.

Steve.

Re: Good manners.

If I've given the impression that everyone that I have helped has not responded, I apologise.
Those that have sent PM's to me have already thanked me enough. I'm sorry if i've given the wrong message.

I just get annoyed when so many people put so much effort into this wonderful site, without so much as a thankyou.

I will carry on helping anyone as will all of you. And we all know who deserves most of the credit.

Time to shut up.

Steve.

Re: Good manners.

Hi Steve,

I love helping the ones, I can and actually feel bad when I see ones that no one has been able to help (to far back or to close) but I love it when someone responds in kind to the replies, but I don't think i have ever noticed ones not responding but you make a very good point it really does make you feel good when they say thanks or even more so when they liked the information so much that they ask you for more, the ones I spend alot of time on and actually find something that they wanted really is rewarding. Joyce
