My gt gt gt grandad william walker in is the Thrussington Leicestershire cenus eraly 1800s but it says that he was from Brownsover nr Rugy in warickshire but on numerious vistits to the records office there can not find him.With his age on the Thrussington cesus his dob should be 1785 Any help appiacated

By looking a multimap Brownsover looks more of a street/road than an actual place.

There is about 12 houses there on the old [place but across the dual carraige way is all new today.I have looked in the records office quite alot without any succes

THERES QUITE A FEW DEATHS FOR WILLIAM WALKER IN THE LEICESTER AREA ALL BORN AROUND THE SAME TIME SO HARD TO PIN DOWN.....HOPE SOME OF THIS MATCHES WHAT U ALREADY FOUND AND HELPS U TO FIND MORE.....THE OTHER THING THAT ALSO MAKES IT DIFFICULT....ITS ALSO BEEN KNOWN FOR PEOPLE TO MOVE TO AN AREA AND THEN TO STATE ON CENSUS AND ELECTORAL SHEETS....THAT THEY WERE BORN IN THE AREA .....THIS WAS BECAUSE OF THE FINANCIAL GAIN THEY COULD GET FROM THE PARISH 'POOR LAW'.....IT GOES SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF THAT IF THEY WEREN'T BORN IN THE AREA THE PARISH WOULDN'T HELP FINANCIALLY IN HARD TIMES AND WOULD SOMETIMES SEND THE FAMILY BACK TO THE PARISH WHERE THEY WERE BORN AND MANY PEOPLE, ONCE THEY HAD MOVED ON, DIDNT LIKE TO GO FOR ONE REASON AND ANOTHER

My william walker married a Mary Richardson from barsby in 1809 and had the following;AMEY 1816
lucy 1819
william 1821 D
John1822
George 1823
william 1826
In the 1861 census that i have a copy william is75 a retired Gardener from Brownsover Warwikshire,
Mary his spouse is 68 and is from Barsby
william ;son and gardener is 27.
75y from 1861 gives you 1786 at Brownsover.However on my many visits to the records office in warick i havent found any trace of birth.
There is mention of a Richard Walker marr to Ann Smith of Brownsover on 10:4:1726/ but this is to early and i couldnt find to link to william of 1786.
William died at 77y in 1862 and i think Mary his spouse must have died sometime after the 1861 as she is on the census but didnt put her mark on the death cert in 1862.

Is it Barsby Leicestershire or Barby Warwickshire. The reason I ask, is that I used to live near Barby, and Brownsover. One is just north of Rugby and the other is just south.
Those two Villages would be a lot closer than Barsby in Liecestershire, and would be more feasible for personal contact.

Barsby Leicestershire is where williams wife came from.There must be a logical reason why i carnt find william at Browsover .possably moved when he was young from a near by villageThere is plenty of williams around at that time.He definatly moved pior to his marage in Thrussinton in 1809 but at what age?
