Re: William Henry BOND

Brothers Robert and John and sister Elizabeth also arrived in Australia. Their death reg have variations for the given name of their mother.

Deaths
1888/B21349 Bond Robert - Richard Wensby Bond - Dela Farrell
1913/B18311 Bond Elizabeth Rose - Richard Wensley Bond - Bridget Farrell
1941/B54818 Bond John Thomas - Richard Wensley - Bedelia Farrell

534/1879 BOND JOHN - SHEEHAN BRIDGET - SYDNEY
554/1879 BOND JOHN - SHEEHAN BRIDGET - SYDNEY

The Sydney Morning Herald - Saturday 7 June 1879 p.1
Marriages
BOND-SHEEHAN.-May 20, at St. Francis' Church, by the Rev. James Fleming, John Bond, youngest son of the late R. W. Bond of Ireland, to Bridget Agnes, youngest daughter of Michael Sheehan, Hartley-street, Brisbane.

So we have two marriages in 1879.

I don't have age at death yet for John, Robert or Elizabeth. Also don't know if they were born in Ireland or England.

So, looking for 4 births.

Re: William Henry BOND

Whose Sophia? Is she Richard Wensley Bond's mother? Her husband's name was also Richard Wensley Bond.
Found them in a estate article in the Freeman's Journal and Daily Commercial Advertiser (Dublin, Ireland), Friday, November 14, 1856;

Re: William Henry BOND

Thanks gibbo.

Yes, there are connections to Ireland but I don't know who the parents of Richard Wensley are.

Quote:
In about 1720 a Reverend James BOND (1692-1762), who married Catherine Wensley of Co. Donegal, arrived in Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford...
I have not been able to find a tree that connects Richard to this James.

I have spent some time looking at Irish newspapers and found this:

Quote:
Reference in 1813 for the sale of a religious pamphlet at various establishments including James Winsley BOND, Edgeworthstown.
Don't know if James W is a brother of Richard W., but probably.

So it's possibly Richard W. senior and Sophia.

Re: William Henry BOND

A book on the nobility / landed-gentry / landed estates of Ireland might help.

Some stuff - HERE

Quote:
(Estate) Bond (Carrownure) - The Bonds were descended from a Presbyterian minister who settled in county Longford in the mid 18th century. In the 1830s and 1850s Richard Wensley Bond held an estate in the parish of St Johns, barony of Athlone, county Roscommon, from the Hodsons who had a lease in perpetuity from St George Caulfield dated 1764. Richard W. Bond was the second son of the Very Reverend Wensley Bond, Dean of Ross and he married Sophia daughter of the Reverend James Bond of Lecarrow, county Roscommon.

Richard Wensley BOND (senior)
Birth: Abt 1783 in Ross, County Cork, Ireland
Death: 3 Oct 1860

There are either 3x Richard W or Richard junior married twice because spouse is said to be a Mary THOMPSON.
