I am researching my husbands great grandfather's family tree and have discovered he had a daughter named Jane (Jeanie) McLeich McIntyre who married a farmer from Hilltop Farm, Gildersome, Nr Leeds, named Harold Cartlidge in 1916. I think they may have had 2 daughters named Doreen Cartlidge in 1917 and Mona Cartlidge in 1922. Jeanie died in 1969 aged 82 years in Yorkshire. I was just wondering whether there are any family descendants who could get in touch.

Thank you for that information...very helpful. I've since found another 2 possible daughters named Moyra and Joan in the Dewsbury district, which given the Scottish background of their mother is more likely with a daughter named Moyra. I've applied for Jeanie's death certificate to see who the informant might have been...here's hoping!

I can help here! My grandmother is Jane (Jeanie) McLeich McIntyre, my mother is Moyra, still alive today at 86 and living in Cheshire.
I have quite a lot of family history I can help you with.
Couple of points, Harold was born Sep 16 1887. There were 6 siblings, Doreen, Douglas, Mona, Alec, Moyra and Joan in that order.
Hi Steven
How amazing and it must be the right family as so much information we already have ties up. I've never worked on these forums before but are we allowed to provide e-mail addresses so we can make contact direct? My husband and I recently found the McIntyre lair in Dumbarton where his great grandfather (John McIntyre), great grandmother (Euphemia McIntyre) and 6 of their 10 children are interred, including your grandmother (Jeanie Cartlidge) although the date of death was 17th Dec 1970 which is a year out from her death certificate, but mistakes do occur.
I'll wait to hear back from you before going on any further, with an e-mail address if possible/allowed, as I have a photo of the McIntyre headstone that I can send you + lots more information re. John McIntyre that you may or may not know.

First thanks to davelambert271 for your help so here is my next post
Hi Carol and Ron,
Talked with my mum tonight and tried to figure out who your grandparents are. By deduction I think your grandmother may be Ethel, who married Alexander? Is this correct?
Absolutely great news to hear about the 6 graves. My grandmother died in Yorkshire, but my mum confirmed she was buried in Dumbarton, and yes she died Dec 17th 1969. I know 2 of the 10 went to the US, so really interested to know who the 6 are, though I think I know most as there were 3 maiden aunts lived and died in Dumbarton.
1 more to go then we can talk privately. Wait your reply
