Does any one know what a Framework Knitter did?
Does any one know what a Framework Knitter did and what sort of machine they used? We beleive it is something to do with hosery manufacturing. The job title is one of our distant relatives from Leicestershire.

I believe it was invented by a clergyman. Before that men used to lean on street corners with knitting and knit them in their spare time.
