Hi,
I have been researching my Family Tree and Genearlogical Heritage for quite a while now, and have become fairly experienced in doing so, i know of most rersources available to me, yet can still not find the Birth/Parentage of Andrew
I have put this question to many other Family Tree sites before and none could answer me
As i am too young to drive, i cannot travel to any archives to see if they can help me, as i live far from Andrews Birthplace, so that is not a possibilty
And if anyone could help me to find information on his birth, parents or siblings, i would be eternally grateful!
Here is all the information i have on Andrew..
Andrew Fraser
-Born 1808-1810 (give or take a fair few years each way)
-Married Hannah Worsley on 19th or 29th April 1829 (my computer is unavailable to me at this moment so i shall verify once i gain access)
-Married at Manchester cathedral (i think)
-in the 1841 census, he is living in Bunbury,Cheshire as a Police Officer, this gives his birth year as 1808 and birthplace as 'out of county'
-in the 1851 census, he is living in manchester, lancashire with the occupation 'smith', his birthyear would be 1810 and his birthplace as Manchester, Lancashire
-Died 1853 in Manchester.
- he also hand numerous children, who i shall give information on if needed, as i know that naming customs of the time, mean that his childrens names could hep us find his fathers and mothers name
If anyone could find his Parents, it would be greatly appreciated!
No one has been able too in the past, the challenge is set!
Good Luck
Kind Regards,
Joel

Due to the closeness of Wigan and Manchester, would you say that there is a strong possibility of these being his parents, and due to his birth date being 7 years earlier than any previous estimates?
Regards,
Joel

also, what website did you use?

The dob does give cause for concern, but they are the only records I could find. I wonder if Andrew 1801 died and the next child was given his name. Only a thought, but something to keep in mind. The records came from IGI -
Hi
indeed it is a cause for concern
someone else has an idea that Andrew was born in Scotland or in Newcastle

Andrew both had Daughters with the name Isabella and Elizabeth and also a son called Wiliam
Do you think these could be right?
why is it interesting that they married in Manchester cathedral?
I'm not too sure why James was born in Halifax, but the 'Plug Riots' of the time, were both in Halifax and Bunbury (where Andrew lives as a police officer) and many people were drafted in as police officers at the time to help, and they would have had to travel across the country
regards,
Joel
p.s
after checking, there is no 1841 census match for any Andrew Frazer/fraser born in or living in Newcastle or dumfries
