Re: CATT family in Sussex

Hello cp,

Thanks.

Oh. I hope that's not ham sandwich with hot mustard.

How did those FURNER daughters get in there?

I don't know yet if this is connected to my tree or not.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

Thank you very much.

I presume 'son in law' here means nephew ?

Dave

Re: CATT family in Sussex

Hello cp,

I know this CATT is in my tree. I put him there 30 minutes ago.

I'm creeping up to the 4999 limit I put on my tree.

Francis CATT c. 26 May 1811 Westfield, Sussex

married Hannah CRAMP
11 Jun 1832 Ore, Sussex

Please see if you can find Francis and Hannah in 1841. Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Re: CATT family in Sussex

Hello cp,

Thank you very much.

I don't yet have a list of Francis senior's siblings so I think I'll leave it there.

It's not the address I was hoping for in Ore. Was looking for his mother Mary (nee FURNER).

It is probably the right family. Francis senior son of Jesse CATT & Mary FURNER.

Francis junior I think ends up in NZ.

Regards,

Dave

Re: CATT family in Sussex

Hello cp,

Looks like I had the right Mary after all. David and Spencer are younger siblings of Francis senior. Looks as though first son was named Francis after his grandfather (Mary's father) and 2nd son Jesse after his father. Jesse CATT must have died before 1841.

Quote:
1841
HO107 Piece: 1105 Book/Folio: 5/15 Page: 22
Registration District: Hastings
Sub District: Ore
Civil Parish: Ore Municipal Borough:
Address: Rye Road Brunswick Lodge, Ore
County: Sussex
CATT, Mary F 1796 Sussex Charwoman
CATT, Ellen F 1826 Sussex
CATT, Mary F 1826 Sussex
CATT, David M 1821 Sussex
CATT, Spencer M 1829 Sussex
We looked for Mary before in 1851 and found another charwoman in 1851 and 1861 ruling that one out as there is this death which is probably Mary (nee FURNER) - younger sister of Charles (my line):

Deaths Sep 1858
Catt Mary Hastings 2b 20

EDIT: Oh. If Ellen CATT b. 1826 is Helen FOORD in 1851 at Red Lake, Ore and again at Red Lake in 1861 there is a mother-in-law Mary living with them so that rules out the 1858 death.
