The nearest I could find was a James and Mary Ross born Rutherglen James occ is given as portioner? also the ages are a little bit out.

I noticed a daughter with the same name (variation) - Merren.

Robert a printfield worker would fit - same occupation as his father.

As for James: age 22 and 49 so one out or both?

I don't know if we are making progress or not.

What I'm hoping for is to trace one of the KERRs, I was hoping Mirren but one of her brothers would do. Then get a copy of his death certificate. I'm assuming in this that they are all siblings of the William KERR in my tree.

Yes. I am hoping this is part of the family with William (in my tree) and Elizabeth as the two eldest children who were out on their own by 1841. I have no death for William 1841 - 1851 so looking to trace a possible sibling.

So we only have James in Rutherglen in 1861 unless we can find a marriage for Mary.

That's one or two to try and trace.

Oh. If I can prove Margaret the spouse of Andrew has the same parents as the other KERRs then we have one more to trace.

No sign of a Margaret.

I have possibly found two more siblings, Isabella and Agnes but there are 8 possible marriages I need to check.

I'd prefer to trace one of the married daughters. That way I have two family names in the index for the death on SP.
