Thomas MALCOME ?

Hello,

Re 1851 Census Largs, Ayrshire

I'm having trouble with the family name. Others in the same household are MALCOME but it looks like MAYLAM or MAYLAW to me. Also I can't work out where Thomas and spouse Mary were born - Inch... ? Inchand.

I can see son and daughter born in Largs, Ayrshire.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Re: Thomas MALCOME ?

Looks like MAYLAW to me Dave.

Or it could be MaGlaw.

Re: Thomas MALCOME ?

Thanks, Steve.

I've tried MALCOM, MAYLAW, MAYLAN, MAYLAM etc and I can't find the marriage or a birth/baptism for any of them.

Re: Thomas MALCOME ?

Yes, I surprised myself.

It was the curl on the last letter. It looked like the d on the end of grand (dau).

Damn. Now what do I do for the rest of the day? It's too hot to go outside.

Pour yourself a cool bath, and sit in it.

I'd better not say "I haven't had a bath for 30 years" or else...
