Backhill of Fetterletter, Aberdeenshire.

Just been trying to work out where my wifes, Grandfathers croft was in the Scottish census. Then I realised that I have no subscription to original images.

Anyway, just down the road from his Croft was a drinking fountain and trough for all animals and humans.
The half bowl, at the base of the 'column' was the drinking fountain. Troughs either side, and the small opening at the very bottom, in the center was for the small 'beasties'.

Found this picture, but unfortunately it has been turned into a flower arrangement, but it has been renovated.

Hi Steve

Who are you looking for ?

I still have some credits available, if you want me to look something up for you.

I hope that Oz Steve will be ok. It sounds and looks dire out there and spreading quickly.

It is nearly teatime, so hurry if you want something done !!

I don't think it would be possible to find out who lived there before the wifes Grampy, Maddie.

As the houses were so scattered, it would be hard to pinpoint the former occupants. I'll have to get some more info off the mother-in-law.

The Croft is known as Backhill Croft.

Watch this space.

Steve.
