Hi,
Does anyone have Mary or Mary Julia Horsfield in their family tree?
I have a Mary Julia born approx 1882 as aged 9 on 1901 census. Possible parents are Thomas and Elizabeth Ann Horsfield ??
I know Mary married James Howorth as their names are on my grandads birth Certificate.
I am trying to find any information on her, confirmation of parents, 1911 census, siblings, death etc
Thanks for your assistance in this matter

Hi Gary
Thanks for updates, you didn't give a name for your Grandad bn 1910?
I couldn't find James in 1911 Gores/Kellys Directory Lpool but I did find a birth for Elizabeth 2nd qtr W Dby maiden Horsfield 1913.
With a name we may find him in 1911 census

Hi Gary
It looks as if you are unlucky at the moment. It would appear that the 1911 census is missing No 60 Conway St, and if so will be missing the people there as well. This explains why I can't find them.
I have sent an email asking the question, so I'll let you know the result.
You didn't give your grandfather's name, but I presume it is James as this is the only record out of three, named Howorth, the others being Howarth

There are two further children born to a mother Horsfield at West Derby
Elizabeth as above, born A/J 1913 ref 8b 925
Annie A/J 1919 ref 8b 727
FMP cannot help us. They agree that there is no No 60. Nos 57/59 is a public house and No 61 is a shop. They could not fing James 1910 either.

Hi again,
Wow, thanks for the replies, you's dont hang about on here!!
My grandad's name was James Howorth, born 21/1/1910.
I Have found some further info which may help....There was only one marriage in Liverpool between 1890 & 1902, it was Dec 1/4 1901 at Our Lady & St Nicholas & St Anne. The actual date was 24 Nov 1901. It gives James as 19 and Mary as 20, so i am presuming this is the marriage of my Grandads Parents. I have no access to the parish records of this church as the register will give the fathers names, also this may be the baptism church of the 6 siblings, John, George Vernon, Mary Ann, James, Elizabeth and Annie, which will give all information.
I am struggling to find them on the Census, all i can come up with is that Mary's parents were George and Elizabeth Ann or Thomas and Elizabeth Ann??
George and Elizabeth married in West Derby in June 1/4 1874, at St George, and, Thomas and Elizabeth married in Hulme, Manchester in Sept 1/4 1879, at St Philip.

Hi Gary
Having spent hours searching for a marriage I finally found what I believe to be your James and Mary, only to find you have also found it.
The problem being that both surnames have been mispelt on Free BMD.
The record is James HAWORTH to Mary HORSEFIELD Dec Qtr 1901 Liverpool ref 8b 159. You can get the Marriage cert from this
