Where is son Llewellyn born in 1844? I can't see him on the image of the passenger list either.
Thanks. I'll look at the image if I can find it. Oh, Victoria and alone and unassisted.
He was born in Wales and was with the family in 1851:
1851 Wales Census
Corntown Farm, Ewenny, Glamorgan, Wales
John Sands, 50, Head, Farmer of 330 acres, Llandough, Glamorgan, Wales
Ellen Sands, 39, Wife, Cowbridge, Glamorgan, Wales
John Samuel Sands, 11, Son, Llandough, Glamorgan, Wales
Jane Sands, 9, Dau, Scholar at home, Llandough, Glamorgan, Wales
Llewelyn Sands, 6, Son, Scholar at home, Llandough, Glamorgan, Wales
so nothing unusual with him being away as a border or whatever.
His father John died 1880 in Gunning and his mother Ellen in 1878 in Gunning and buried in Old General Cemetery Goulburn:
The Sydney Morning Herald..Saturday 18 December 1858
On Thursday, the 9th instant, of consumption, in her 17th year, at the residence of her parents, Cambrian Vale, near Goulburn, Jane, the only daughter of John and Ellenor Sands, late of Llandough, Glamorganshire, South Wales.
