Re: S for STORRIER, SPACKMAN & SMITH

Hello crankypants,

Finding stuff that does not really help:

Ann MUNFORD b. 14 Jun 1786 c. 24 Jun 1786 Saint Augustine, Norwich, Norfolk, England
Father: John MUNFORD
Mother: Susanna FICKLING

I presume Robert didn't come with Ann and the children. I also can't be sure they actually came free on that convict vessel.

I can't find the marriage around 1810 or the birth of Elizabeth around 1813.

Regards,

Dave

Re: S for STORRIER, SPACKMAN & SMITH

Hello crankypants,

Henry (2) 27 02 1825 NSW 12 10 1824 London 138 79 2 77 Jas Ferrier Wm B Carlyle

That means 79 female convicts, 77 in Hobart and 2 in Sydney.

If Ann came on that vessel she was a convict with her daughter Elizabeth. I'm not so sure about that.

Regards,

Dave

Re: S for STORRIER, SPACKMAN & SMITH

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. All I can say at the moment is

The names certainly fit. I can't see a death in NSW for an A* RITCHIE with unknown parents or parents John & Susanna. i can't see the death in NSW before 1850 of a Robert RITCHIE. Hmmmm....

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

There were THREE William SMITHs on the Isabella in 1818 and MORE of them on it when it returned in 1822.

Re: S for STORRIER, SPACKMAN & SMITH

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. Curious. With parent's name like that and the name RITCHIE I wonder if Ann was actually born in Scotland. I wonder what her maiden name was if it's not MUNFORD

It sounds as though neither Robert nor Ann were convicts. I'm really confused now.

There has to be two Robert & Ann RITCHIEs. Ann RITCHIE (nee MUNFORD) b. 1786 is not the one who died in 1865. Or,...the person who created that tree 'invented' Ann MUNFORD as the mother of Elizabeth.

Regards,

Dave
