Help with Church name

Hi all
Can some clever person who knows how to edit and magnify etc please tell me the name of the church on the marriage cert? Short of buying a magnifying glass I have no idea what it says - maybe the South St church??
According to BMD it should be Cathedral Manchester?
cheers

Re: Help with Church name

Hello Karen,

I can't actually read the image but I can guarantee its says:

theCath.+ParishChurch in the Parish of Manchester

It's all squashed together due to lack of space

Full explanation can been found at the bottom on the page link here

Thanks once again Gerard! I HAD thought it said that, but was confused, thinking it was abbreviation of Catholic, I know my family were all Protestants.
I saved that site to my favourites - very interesting thank you.
I don't know your vintage but do you by chance remember a confectioner/taboccanist shop on Eccles New Road in the 60's opposite the flats? There was supposed to be a pub nearby too? I recently googled it - can't find a pub. Anyway, my Grandad Don Hunt owned the shop, the neighbouring shops were a cobblers, run by a daef mute couple and the other side was a cafe run by the Thompsons - my godparents.

Re: Help with Church name

Hello Karen,

I am not that familiar with Eccles New Road and I can't recall many of the names of shops + pubs. I suspect many have disappeared since the 60s The only two pubs I recall being there recently are the Coach and Horses and the Grey Mare Inn.

Hi Karen,
I can't see the image, but if you go to 'google maps' and put in Eccles New Road, and got to street view, you just may recognise the buildings.
A long shot, but give it a go.

But as Gerard says, there has been a lot of redevelopement.

Steve.
