Re: Looking for TREGAY family

There is a Portsmouth Railway Station just up the road from Cornholme if you look on Google maps.

Something doesn't add up though...or I've misread this..... how can William George b 1854 be a brother of Bertha b 1891. The 1901 Census Dave has listed Bertha's father is only 44yrs old.

There are 2 Joseph Tregay's in 1891 in Todmorden

Joseph 62
Hannah 61
William G G 36 Bobbin Turner b Twelveheads
Hannah 19 b Todmorden
Margaret E 17 b Todmorden
John Greenwood gson 7

Joseph 35
Eliza 35
Harriet 12 b Todmorden
Margaret H 10 b Todmorden
Lambert B 8 b Todmorden

Have I gone wrong somewhere Apologies if I have.

Re: Looking for TREGAY family

Hi Trace
You have found the same two families as me. Sorry I broke off for my tea, so my two posts were a bit apart. I can only find one Bertha, if she was born 1893 and William 1854, that is 39 years apart, add on 20 years before William was born and it makes the parents a bit old for them to be siblings.
I said the two fathers were probably brothers, but more likely cousins, being as they were both Josephs.
