Thank you very much. Yes, it does make it much harder when the middle name is not included.
I'd say the Ryerson death is a son and that he is the one in North Sydney in 1936 since he was 'late of Willoughby'. Does that one say 'surveyor'? I think we can rule out the Bankstown one. The Byron St Coogee one matches the father in 1930.

Thank you very much. Isobel & Phyllis are two of their three daughters. The other was Marion Violet.
I don't know Alexander's parents or siblings, that's why I said it might get tricky. It looks as though that birth reg is for a different Alexander. So, from the listing I presume his parents are William (storekeeper) & Mina (domestic duties).
This can't be the one because it's too late:
1892/C4869 Cunningham Mina Alice - John Charles Annie Elizabeth Swindley
And, this can't be the marriage because it's too late:
1887/B11924 Hunter Elizabeth Jemima Cunningham William
The service record looks as if it is for my Alexander with the 'c/- Clifton, Qld.' so he was born before 1882 but where?
Found these two QLD births. Can't find anything on them in ER.
1892/C7812 Cunningham Beatrix Evelyn William Mina Turnbull
1892/R1015 Cunningham James Forrest William Mina Turnbull
