Looking for records of the Army Service Corp 1771-1910

I have come to a dead stop on the Spencer line of my tree. Edward Dan Spencer was apparently born 1856 in Greenwich. He was married in 1875 at Manchester Cathedral when he states that he was a Private in the 12th Lancers. We now know that this is untrue. He was in the Army Service Corp. In 1877 his first daughter was born in Bull Point in Devon when Edward is down as a Soldier in the ASC. After the 1881 census the next thing we have is his wife returning from Ireland with two sons both born in Ireland (Dublin and Cork)
How can I find details of members of the ASC. The army says they were not classified as soldiers therefore they don't hold records of them.

Re: Looking for records of the Army Service Corp 1771-1910

Hi
Nothing to do with Edward's service career, but there are a couple of details which you may or may not know, so I thought I would pass them on just in case.
1881 census
Edward Spencer 25 Greenwich, Soldier A S C
Elizabeth (nee Phinh) 27 Manchester
Amy B 4 Woolwich
Florence L 2 Devonport
John C 5m Bull Point, Plympton, Devon
living Bull Point

If this is correct their first child was not born at Bull point

I can't find all of the family in 1891 but see that John is an inmate at Cheetham Refuge for Boys and Girls in Lancashire, where he can still be found in 1901

Amy 14 is a servant in 1891 in Didsbury, Lancashire

In 1901 Florence 22 is a servant at Giggleswick Grammar School in Yorkshire

Elizabeth 47 is living in Salford in 1901 with Amy 26 a waitress in resturaunt, and Frank born 1891 in Ireland

I hope you find something of interest
dave

Thank Dave for your work on this. I am sorry I was so remiss as to not answer before. I am searching on so many fronts and didn't check replies. Will try better in future. Thanks again.
