William Ives. Death 1916. Princes Risborough, Bucks

William Ives was living at Alscott, Longwick, Princes Risborough, Bucks in 1911.

Living with his second wife, Emma Ives (nee.Payton). Married 1905.

Before I order his death cert, is there anything in the newspapers as an obituary, or death circumstances.

Steve.

No luck Steve.

I can't get to NLA eResources to look up English Newspaper Archive.

Re: William Ives. Death 1916. Princes Risborough, Bucks

Possibly out of luck.

Bucks Herald
Audience: General
Publication Format: Newspaper
Full-Text Coverage: Jan 05, 1833 - Dec 31, 1904

The Archive says 1741 - 1950 but

Jackson's Oxford Journal
Audience: General
Publication Format: Newspaper
Full-Text Coverage: Jan 04, 1800 - Dec 29, 1900

the cut off date seems around 1900 for most.

I'll order the cert on Monday. I've waited too long for this cert, almost 5 years.

Re: William Ives. Death 1916. Princes Risborough, Bucks

I did get to check the newspapers Steve and found nothing that helps.

The papers of interest don't cover 1916 and the papers that do had hits for St Ives in Cornwall.

Re: William Ives. Death 1916. Princes Risborough, Bucks

Yeah, searching for Ives is a nightmare in the papers, same as searching for the surname Bedford, my daughters maternal side. He wasn't the Duke of Bedford, as that was all I seemed to get.

I just wondered, as member Rupert found some clippings before......1943 & 1951, in Princes Risborough. Not sure what newspapers though.
