William Hunter/Ann Burns m Wooloomooloo

Looking for anything at all on this couple. They married 20 May 1863. His parents John Hunter and Sarah McKie. Born 1833 Co Cavan, Ireland.

Her parents Huston Burns and Eliza Liscoal(?) Born 1840 Co Cavan.

William supposed to have come over on "Fortune" in 1855. If so A has him having a brother already there.

They are not Catholic, married in Presbyterian Church. Hard to find anything on them in Ireland.

Thanks
Barbara

Re: William Hunter/Ann Burns m Wooloomooloo

Daughters 1863 marriage announcement states the LATE Huston Burns. Found this appears to be a spelling error with his name. Cant find any death or funeral notices for him.

NSW death index .. Huston Burns snr.

BURNS HUSTOW 1249/1862 WILLIAM DIED SYDNEY SYDNEY

Re: William Hunter/Ann Burns m Wooloomooloo

Great so her parents were in NSW too. No sign of his though? He seemed to be alone on the ship but had a brother already there.

Thanks Gibbo.

HUNTER William 21 Fortune 1855 Moreton Bay Reels 2137, 2469

I'll be in the State Library on Wednesday so can look up reel 2469. It should list a few things not on reel 2137.

Native place looks like Carlow. ? No other Hunter on board.

No death for a Sarah Hunter in Lismore area.

No other death for a male Hunter in Lismore area with mother = Sarah but several with just age and no parents on death reg. There is this one with father = John.

HUNTER JOHN 13241/1884 JOHN DIED BROADWATER LISMORE

Re: William Hunter/Ann Burns m Wooloomooloo

Is William's brother John?

William's family when they moved north was into dairy farming.
