Harriet (1835) and Mary (1837) BROOK - Devon

In 1841 there is, what I assume to be, the following family grouping:- Thomas Brook (35), Mary (32), Harriet (6), Mary (4), and Thomas (2), living in Lewtrenchard, Devon.

I have found this family in 1851:- Thomas Brook (45), Mary (44) with children William(9) John (7) James (4) and Robert (2) living in Bridestowe. The two eldest children were born in Lewtrenchard. I suspect that this could be the same family but in the absence of any of the older children there must remain an element of doubt.

I would help in tracing the children of 1841 in 1851.

Re: Harriet (1835) and Mary (1837) BROOK - Devon

1) Thomas was a Lime Quarry Labourer on both census.
2) they don't seem to know who was born where. Lewtrenchard is a small hamlet with Bridestowe probably its parish with the registration district being Oakhampton.
3) 1951
Harriet 20 Serv HO107- 1881-394-68
Mary 17 Serv HO107-1882-313-16
Fanny 14 Serv HO197-1885-280-13
Thos 12 Serv HO107-1884-365-10

so it looks as if it's the same family and all the children on 1841 census are servants living away from home in 1851

Thanks, Dave, for usual prompt and helpful reply. Looks as if the older ones had to move out to make room for the next batch! They certainly had to grow up quickly.
