Can anyone help me.
I'm looking for any information on a william demaine born around 1675 in pateley bridge, also know as gulielmi demaine ( think it's the latin version of william)

Thank you.

Re: Demaine

Hi ellie.

It's gulielmi (william) demaine.
That's how my surname is spelt, but i think my surname should actually be spelt De Maine.

Re: Demaine

If you spell it without the 'e' eg Demain, it means tomorrow. There's a bit of useless info for you.

I have had a look for William but there's nothing coming up at the moment.

Re: Demaine

Hi emeltee.

I've tried, my auntie has too but we're at a dead end. It says his father is FNU that's all it says. I don't know whether it's his initials.

Thanks

Re: Demaine

Could FNU mean First Name Unknown?

Re: Demaine

Oh, it could be. I don't think we'll ever know to be honest. Going off subject, I'm also looking for a job demaine (pronounced joab) I know he was born 1779 in either Pateley bridge or fewston, Leeds area. He emmigrated to alexandria, Virginia in America. I know he was living there in 1820 but I don't actually know the date he emmigrated. I've tried to find out but I can't seem to find anything.

Thanks
