Re: Thomas SLAUGHTER

These two are children of Thomas and Mary Ida ...

Joseph Slaughter 15 [b. Kent]
Haorni Slaughter 20 [do] User correction > Naomi

... but Thomas & Mary Ida and other children not yet found in 1841.

Quote:
We have not yet found the ship Thomas, Sarah [2nd spouse - married 1844] and his son Thomas came to Australia on. They arrived in Brisbane on the 'Mary Stewart' on 29 March 1850 - but that was a coastal steamer.
It should have included son John b. 25 Dec 1825 Charing, Kent who also ended up in Qld.

He mar. Sarah Smith in 1844, so I would expect he is just missing from the 1841 census for whatever reason.

There are 3-4 trees, I'll see what they say first, though some info is not validated from what I've seen

Re: Thomas SLAUGHTER

The two children are not with their uncle because Thomas had already left. As you say he remarried in 1844.

So Thomas, Mary and 3 children are missing from 1841. Two had died before 1841 and not sure about Joseph b. 4 Feb 1824 Ashford.

Deaths Dec Qtr 1839
Slaughter Mary W Ashford 5 9

Re: Thomas SLAUGHTER

Thanks Geoff. That is correct.

Alfred was probably christened twice, first in Charing as CofE, and again later on 25 Nov 1827 (along with his siblings Naomi, Joseph and John) in Lady Huntingdon's Chapel, Ashford). The family obviously changed to non-conformist.

Oh. That does not agree. Must be a typo.

One has a death for Martha in 1827 but unconfirmed.

I don't have any of the other Countess of Huntingdon baptisms.
