Re: James DALZIEL

Any sign of his parents in 1851?

FreeCEN has 100% coverage of Lanark in 1851, so I'd better look.

1861
Civil Parish: Cambusnethan
County: Lanarkshire
Address: 20 Stewarton St., Wishaw
Dalziel Robert Head 60 Builder Wishaw
Dalziel Ann Wife 54 Carluke
Dalziel Agnes dau 26 Wishaw
Dalziel Jessie 24 Wishaw

Re: James DALZIEL

Was she Mary Lloyd Bale?

A couple of trees have them back in Scotland by 1871, the census is not unconvincing....

Re: James DALZIEL

Her mother was Hannah LLOYD but I don't think Mary had a middle name.

Birth, marriage and death records have no middle name.

Interesting that James and John not BIC, so the family had previously been elsewhere, i.e. Argyll

Re: James DALZIEL

I wanted to trace John or Robert but can't even find them on SP.

I can't find the marriage of Robert to Ann ELDER either.
