Re: James DALZIEL

Hello Barbara,

Thanks for looking.

It looks like the right birth record in Argyll with this death in Queensland:

31 Oct 1921/C03652 Dalzell James Allan - Robert Dalzell - Annie Elder

Marriage notice shows a middle initial 'A' and middle name in E/R:

1919 QLD Electoral Roll - Lilley - Nambour
DALZELL James Allan, Diddillibah, Woombye, contractor
DALZELL Mary, Diddillibah, Woombye, home duties

I wonder if we can prove Mary ELDER is Ann's sister.

Dave

Re: James DALZIEL

It would seem with the same middle initial that this is the correct arrival:

Unassisted to Victoria
DALZELL JAS A Age 19 - JAN 1857 TUDOR B 119 005
Joiner - To Melbourne

so James should be in 1851 census.

Don't know the port of departure yet.

Re: James DALZIEL

Thanks Geoff,

That one is not on the OzShips list for 1857 voyage.

Don't think he lived in Liverpool for 6 years.

Re: James DALZIEL

Ann's parents John ELDER & Agnes BRUCE according to her death certifiate.

Can't see a birth/baptism for Mary on FS with same parents.

We must be reading the same tree for Mary BALE:

James is one of those lost souls for whom little is known. If you are able to give James a family to live with, I would be most pleased to hear about it.
