All we have is the one baptism in Argyll in 1835 and 1841 census.

I've checked 1851 using no given name to catch Robert and Robt etc... and all variations of the family name and can't find any of them in Lanark.

I've now tried all of Scotland but FreeCEN does not have 100% coverage of all counties in 1851.

I still expect them to be in Lanark. Two main variations DALZIEL and DALZELL.

I am James Allen Dalzell's great grandson.
Born in Scotland. Married Mary Bale in Brisbane, moved back to Scotland & had their children then moved back to Queensland where he became well known in the Nambour area
