Hi Dave,
Thanks so much, I have collected all the information together regarding Jessie.

I am slightly suspicious about Jessie, her birth must have been an afterthought.

Re: NANCARROW family

Hi Bruce,

You may be right or there were others who didn't make it to 1861 census.

I don't think we are missing anything except the death of Joseph STEVENS/STEPHENS but there are too many to try and eliminate.

I have another family in my tree in 1861 census - mother 60 and youngest daughter 15 and ages are correct.

That one from Ely, Fife, Scotland.

Unless there is an error on the page - reading across the row so most of the page would have to be wrong not a single row.

Single female and single male PRATT both from Fife.

This is the line above Eliza:

May Jemima 20 Housemaid Truro Cornwall ChofEngland R&W

Will have to check this out. The family name MAY does exist in Cornwall in 1841.

Only these two in 1841 and neither fit:

MAY Jemima F 6 Cornwall St. Mabyn
MAY Jemima F 10 Cornwall Padstow

Can't find any Jemina Mays in Fife in 1841.
Hi Dave,

I looked at the Disposal list of immigrants for the ship 'Blonde'
The last 2 entries on page 96.
Eliza is listed as sister of Thomas who is a miner and it is interesting to note that they are to be employed by a Thos Stephens (Is he a relative?)

Best regards,
Bruce

Re: NANCARROW family

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for that. I came to the conclusion it was an error and that it had to be a single female that age travelling with some family member - Thomas.

Where did you find the Disposal record? I can only get to page 95. ? 96 is page 1 of the 'Tasman' ?

I don't know about their employer being a relative or not. Will have to investigate that.

Dave

Hi Dave,

I can't understand why you can only get to page 95 for the 'Blonde'

I didn't look at the full list of immigrants so I am not sure whether this list is on the last page.
I took a photocopy of it and it definitely is the 'Blonde' and I'm fairly sure that it is page 96.
I got my copy at the State Library.

Re: NANCARROW family

Hi Bruce,

Did you get it off film 2144? If so then NSW Records have not digitised all the pages.

Hi Dave,

The State Library of Victoria has details of this ship on Microfiche.

Hope this helps,
Bruce
