Re: William DARLING & Susanna DOWN

John Wacey
Gender Male
Burial Date 11 Jan 1827 East Dereham, Norfolk
Mother's Name Ann Wacey

Curious fact about the shipping list is that the names published in the newspaper does not include Wacey. Ann arrived for sure but I can find no trace of John.

Events are pointing to Great Yarmouth.

Re: William DARLING & Susanna DOWN

The John Wacey buried 1827 East Dereham was born 1813 according to the NBI and the Norfolk Burials Transcription.

Re: William DARLING & Susanna DOWN

FS has 5 entries for Caroline Darling in Gt Yarmouth and all have mother as Susanna Down, not Dawson.

No other children. Can't see a burial in Norfolk for William Darling to 1821.

No other Caroline Darling hits in FS in Norfolk.

Re: William DARLING & Susanna DOWN

There are some minor fluctuations in Caroline's age, her headstone suggests she was 40y, DoB c1808

Re: William DARLING & Susanna DOWN

No birth/bapt for a John Wacey with mother = Ann and no hits in Trove and no death found in Australia yet.

Only Darling as a middle name for grandchildren.

Re: William DARLING & Susanna DOWN

William Darling
Spouse's Name Susan Dawson
Event Date 15 May 1805
Event Place Saint Matthew Ipswich,Suffolk

A burial for a Caroline with those parents but no burial found yet in England for the Caroline with mother = Down.

5 Darling families baptising children in Gt Yarmouth abound 1809.

There must be a gap in the baptism records. One child for each family and then a 20 year jump to 1831.
