Still no luck on my Henry birth certificate, I do now have a birthdate 16th February 1853, which I obtained from a cousin I found on ancestry, but unfortunately she had no information on his mother, so my hunt goes on,
Carmen.

Re: Hook

Probably no relation whatsoever, but a Private Hook won the VC in 1879 and without looking through my files for confirmation, I think his name was Henry but he is buried somewhere in Gloucestershire. I'm known for useless information, so apologies as I know a lot about brick walls and don't wish to sidetrack your research.

I know my Henry is buried at lodgehill cemetary Birmingham, and died on the 19th Feb 1923, I just canít find any birth details, without his mothers name, itís very difficult,

You are not on your own, after over 10 years of research, my cousin and I have failed to find the birth certificate of my maternal grandfather, and the good people on here didn't either.

Brick Walls - be glad you don't have Davies, Evans, and all the other common names.

Good luck.
