Have you seen this Barbara?

Perhaps I'm not understanding it.

I don't read the name as Minn. Was it expected to be that? Or is it an error by daughter Elizabeth?

Re: Yorkshire Holmes

In a search on Scotlandspeople, I found a marriage record in the Old Parish registers titled “Homes James Jean McMinn/FR185) 28/04/1814 879/ 10-176 Rerrick”. I think Rerrick is the name of a church in Dundrennan, Kirkcudbright.

I purchased the record which states: “Homes – James Homes and Jean McMinn were married 28th April 1814”.

Cheers JC

Re: Yorkshire Holmes

Hi John,

That column on the record is the parish.

"The parish has borne, at different periods, the names of Dundrennan, Monkton, and Rerwick, or Rerrick....

Re: Yorkshire Holmes

McMinn was the name of Jean/Jane and in John's line Ann - McMinnie - but pretty sure the same name so McMayne might have been pronounced McMainee. Elizabeth's age on the census fits with the stone.

Not John's family anyway but might be extended.
