Re: Offers of help

Hi Nikki

to the forum

Its all free on here
I suggest you make a post in the beginners help forum if the person you name is dead, or in the private sensitive forum if they are still alive

Give us some names you know are correct with as much other info you have like ages, birthplace etc

I'm sure someone will be able to get you going

dave

Re: Offers of help

Hi Nikki,

Welcome to the forum, if you have any Birth Marriage or death certificates, they are the best documents to start with and a great source of information. Also speak to as many elderly relatives that you have, it's amazing the stories they can come up with, there is often an element of truth even if they don't remember all the details.
You can build a tree for free on most of the genealogy websites, and you can use the BMD and census on Findmypast and Ancestry for free for two weeks trial.
Hope this helps

Amanda
