Re: August Marie MALAFANT

If I search for 'yerong, france' I get hits in NSW.

Can't find such a village. The "?" after the name of the village is on the form.

Re: August Marie MALAFANT

Yeah, in instances like this there are always going to be variations and errors...

That's why I mentioned the trees in a previous post, at least it's not wholesale copying, clearly some have info from somewhere... Also some have his father's surname as Malenfant, others use [PH] instead of [F]..

If it's not on a direct line then it's probably manageable.

Re: August Marie MALAFANT

Thanks Geoff.

Way off a main line.

Almost finished doing 'M' in my tree.

Windows updated last Friday and since that update the computer will not shut down when I select Power - Shut Down from start menu. Computer reboots and takes 5 min of HD activity before log-on screen appears then another 5 min of HD activity before desktop appears. Then another 5 min of HD activity before it settles down.

I've looked at task manager and can't see what is going on. I have to shut down from the menu on the log-on screen. Then it does shut down. HD reports no errors. No notification in the action centre. I looked at the scheduled tasks - 98 of them there all put there automatically by the system and various software. I've not manually added a single one.
