Burial in Dunfermline

Where would someone be buried in Dunfermline in 1897 if not Leys Park Road Cemetery or Douglasbank Cemetery?

I'm still searching but can't find a date for the last burial at the Abbey Church.

Looks like 1867 - HERE

Thanks,

Dave

Re: Burial in Dunfermline

Seems there are only two cemeteries in 1897.

I've had a look up of the CDs and the burial was not found. Either the name was entered not as STEWART but as STUART and that variation was not searched for or the burial was outside Dunfermline.

From the death certificate the mother is a Beky CLIFF. Perhaps that could be CLIFFE or CLIFFT or CLIFE or CLIFT but I still can't find a marriage that fits 1790 - 1830 anywhere in Scotland using STEWART and STUART.

Re: Burial in Dunfermline

Are you checking under maiden names too Dave, as women were buried mostly under their maiden name (although I see David's wife wasn't -just to prove me wrong) Are these burials from the local council which is where I would go for a burial to tell me where they are.

Re: Burial in Dunfermline

Hello Barbara.

No, I didn't ask for look ups at another site using their maiden name.

And, no, I have not contacted the local council.

I'll prepare a list of those who died in Dunfermline after 1867 and check the address in the death certificates I have in relation to the two cemeteries.

Dave

Re: Burial in Dunfermline

I only know that here in the Borders if you have the death date you can email the burials at the local council offices and they will check their records for you and tell you who else is in the grave.
