Thank you all so much for your detective skills! You've solved a mystery
I was blown away when I logged on and saw all your help! I appreciate it more than you know, so thank you again. His death certificate had his arrival in Australia at 1876, when it was actually 1867, so I can see where i was going wrong.

I can confirm that he is the same Joseph that married Sarah Ann Riley in Fremantle, 1881. They moved to Jarrahdale, had their large family & finally settled in Subiaco, as one of you found in the 1905 directory.

When I saw the Norwood convict immigration record and it stated that he was pardoned early for Sawyer work, I believe that must be my Joseph, so we know he was born in Durham with Irish parents who worked on the Coal Mine.

Joseph is now the third convict ancestor we would love to obtain court transcripts / records of.

Is it possible to obtain UK records of Durham Assizes - 1866 & Kent Assizes - 1850 without the actual court dates?
