You have the 1871 census, post #5..

Ref: Piece: 1140; Folio: 14; Page: 21

Occ: Jane = Annuitant, can't read the others..

Edit: Frances could be formerly Hat maker..

Alternative is Stay but no long cross of the 't' as in 'Mate' or 'Annuitant' below.

Being in the Coast Guard it should be easy to find details for Thomas.

Given where Thomas is in 1841 and 1851 the Westhampnett death is probably the right one.
