Re: John Hanbury FARRER

Don't know whether you have this (or are even interested!)

Matthew George Farrer was born Marylebone 1852 the son of Matthew Thomas Farrer and Mary Louisa Anson who married 1848 in Marylebone.

Matthew Thomas was the Vicar of Addlington and Shirley, Croydon. He as buried there in 1889 along with wife Mary who died 1856. Photo of grave available on Billiongraves site.

Re: John Hanbury FARRER

Thanks Emeltee.

Didn't have it and will add it to my tree. But I won't be going back any further with the family.

Re: John Hanbury FARRER

Got this today at the library.

1914 MARRIAGES Solemnized in the District of Neutral Bay

John Hanbury Farrer - Engineer - Neutral Bay - Bachelor - Evesham Worcester England - 26 - Matthew George Farrer & Gertrude Frances [Caroline Rachel] Hanbury - Landowner
Gertrude Frances Powell - Nil - Neutral Bay - Spinster - Sydney - 28 - William Eyre Powell & Frances Cumberland Maxwell - Civil Servant
Married at St. Augustine's Church, Neutral Bay According to the Rites of the Church of England
Parties signed: John H Farrer, Gertrude Powell
Witnesses signed: Frances Powell, M R Farrer, Edith Powell

Not a coincidence John's mother has the same names - it's an error.

Re: John Hanbury FARRER

Thanks Geoff.

It is very odd because all the others have the county first and he has the county Sussex ? last.

Re: John Hanbury FARRER

Yeah, odd.. At first I thought it was New Brighton, but remembered that's in The Wirral...

Re: John Hanbury FARRER

If two other census have Sussex and there is the birth reg then Sussex although I don't read that one as Sussex.

John H Farrer is the one in my tree.

Clearly an error in that marriage.

Marriages Mar Qtr 1884 Kensington 1a 8
FARRER Matthew George & HANBURY Caroline Rachel

The Kensington marriage itself looks OK, so does the image..
