James (Toco) Ives.

I've just started yet another Ives tree, just to see where it goes.

I was looking for possible baptisms in Ireland, but only got birth regs. Now this was for the tree I have been working on for almost 5 years.

So, I got sidetracked yet again, because I came upon the 1901 Ireland Census, with a name of Frederick Ives(c1868, England), wife called Bertha, and 2 children. So I looked for them in 1911 Ireland census.......Fraderick Ives c1867, Bucks, with no wife, but married, with 5 children. Bertha died in 1914, Benburk, Dungannon, County Tyrone, Ireland. She conveniently left a Will.

Frederick W. Ives, married Bertha Twell in 1896 in Belfast.

Anyway, so I started checking my Ives Pr's, and found Frederick William Ives, 1867, Newport Pagnell, Bucks. Father, James Ives, and mother, Mary Ann (nee.Bird), as I've worked out.

The point of the title of this thread, was the fact that the father, James Ives, was lost to me, after the 1901 census..........and yes, I found him as James Toco, in 1911.

Died in 1914. Newport Pagnell.

No death found for Frederick William Ives in Ireland, as yet, and i doubt I will.

Still, next week I'll be heading to Roscommon GRO, for a few research certs, just to make sure I'm on the right track.

So apart from not finding James Ives in 1841 & 1851, nor Mary Ann Bird(Father Joseph), in the same, I do have the baptism for James Ives(1835.N.Pagnell), and his parents marriage.......John Ives to Elizabeth Proctor, in 1835, Newport Pagnall.

So, there you are.....I've got a way TO CO as yet.

That's all for now folks.

Steve.

Thanks Ellie.

As some of my Ives relatives vanish into thin air from Buckinghamshire,.......usually well before the census, I have to try and track backwards when I find one, I see where they lead going back.
Very time consuming, and quite few trees combined, and more deleted.

James(Toco) Ives was the only child baptised in Marsworth, no burials for parents there.

I'll still looking for James Ives(1836, Marsworth) in the 1841 & 1851 census, no luck as yet.

Oh well, back to work and fingers crossed.

If anyone is interested in helping going backwards, here he is in 1861 census.

Re: James Toco.

You're very , but we have managed to keep some rain for ourselves, and it shows we are quite benevolent over here.

Just found some of the family.....under the surname of KEES in 1891 census.

There's still a few abductions though, but one daughter, Mary Jane Ives, re-appears after a 10 year absence, to get married in 1903 to John James Day........so she is well sorted out now.

I'm still going, but my stamina is waning.

Parents for James Ives(1836. Marsworth) are John Ives & Elizabeth(nee.Procter). So yes, his mother is Elizabeth.

I haven't found him/them, in the 1841 census.

I've just found these other baptisms @ Marsworth. No ages given. But could be siblings.

31 May 1846. Mary Ann child of John & Elizabeth IVES of Tring Postilion, Labourer
31 May 1846. William child of John & Elizabeth IVES of Tring Postilion, Labourer
31 May 1846. Thomas child of John & Elizabeth IVES of Tring Postilion, Labourer.

Well that's interesting.......James Ives(1836), is an Innkeeper at the Wrestlers Inn, in N.Pagnell, in 1891, 1901.....Retired Publican in 1911.

Living in same street in 1901(No.49), but 2 doors down in 1911.......51, Tickford Street.??

I'll check the 1841 for John Ives, that you've found.
