Re: GARFORTH family

The image of James and Martha's marriage is available in the fs catalogue. The Vicar was J Slade and the withnesses were Wm. Garforth and Sarah Atherton. All Signed. Details of the fathers name and occupation not usually included until after Civil Registration in 1837.

Thanks Emeltee.

It might be possible to sort those two Marthas out.

Re: GARFORTH family

Bolton used to be known as Bolton-le-Moors so St Peter, Bolton and Bolton-le-Moors are one and the same place.

Re: GARFORTH family

Yes, thanks Emeltee. The moors bit gets dropped in later years.

Oh. 36x marriages 1820 - 1830 in Lancs for a Martha Taylor.

Just checked Lancs OPC for Martha Taylor baptisms 1803 +/- 5 and none for St Peter Bolton.
