Thomas Ives. 1783. Great Missenden, Bucks.

Here is another mystery to be solved. And I'd like a whole heap of help, if anyone has the time.

I need no help with any of his children, as they are all sorted.

Great Missenden Marriage. 31 Jan 1810. by Licence,(Granted 28th Jan).
Thomas IVES, Bachelor of this parish.
Mary ANGUS, Spinster of this parish.
Witnesses - John Stevens & Sarah Ives(His mother).

No sign of him in 1841 census, nor Mary, his wife. Last child born, 1826, Great Missenden.
No burial that fits for Mary Ives, nor Thomas Ives in Great Missenden.

( 1841 - 3 children in the Reg. Dist. of Eton, sub. Burnham.)

However, he marries a Barbara Ann Clarke, in 1843 @ St Pancras. (Is he a widow).

1851 census.

Thomas Freas
Age 69
abt 1782.
Spouse - Barbara Freas.
Born - Missenden, Buckinghamshire, England
Civil parish - St Anne Soho
Ecclesiastical parish London
County - Middlesex
Reg. district - Strand
Sub-reg district - St Anne, Soho.
ED, 6
House sched. number 20.
Piece 1510
Folio 136
Page. 5

Thomas Freas - 69. (Occ. Possibly a Butcher.)
Barbara Freas - 57. b.Wandsworth, Surrey.

No death for wife, Mary Ives, Thomas Ives or wife Barbara Ives, that I can find.

Any ideas anyone.

Steve.

Re: Thomas Ives. 1783. Great Missenden, Bucks.

Image says he is a widower in 1843 [marriage], occ = labourer, Res = York Square.

The 1851 census that you cite, Thomas is a pork butcher.

Re: Thomas Ives. 1783. Great Missenden, Bucks.

Hi Val

Looks like the correct death for Mary, if nee Angus [1826] I did see it in the NBI but she was aged 55y there is also another entry same details at Princes Risborough, St Mary. Possibly died in childbirth if their last child was b. 1826..

1 Jun 1826
Mary IVES
Age 55
Lacey Green, St John the Evangelist

1 Jun 1826
Mary IVES
Age 55
Princes Risborough, St Mary

Geoff

EDIT:
FMP also has age = 55y

Re: Thomas Ives. 1783. Great Missenden, Bucks.

Yes, Thomas Ives parents are Thomas Ives & Sarah White.

The Lacey Green burials are for Thomas Ives & Mary (nee.Kitson).

I'm not 100% sure, but this Thomas Ives was a labourer. He was son of John Ives & Lydia Clark. ...... b1770, Turnip End, Lacey Green, Bucks. baptised 1771. Princes Risborough.

Recorded at Princes Risborough & Lacey Green.
1 Jun 1826 Mary IVES aged 55 wife of Thomas of Lacey Green, at St John the Avangelist Chapel on Lacey Green.

Burial @ Lacey Green - 1 Jun 1826 Mary IVES aged 55 wife of Thomas of Lacey Green.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Towersey, Thomas Ives is accounted for in my Tree.

Towersey Burial - 10 Mar 1861 Thomas IVES aged 76 of Emmington.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the 1841 census for 3 of the children, all born Great Missenden. (All sorted out).

I can't see the original of it.

I doubt this will help much for Thomas, Mary & Barbara Ives.

Peter Ives

Thanks very much for the continued help. Much apprecaited.

Re: Thomas Ives. 1783. Great Missenden, Bucks.

More alien abductions I think.

As the children are accounted for, it seems that it's really not worthwhile persuing the deaths for Thomas, Mary & Barbara Ives.

Just another annoying 'abduction', but I thought I'd at least try with your help.

I think I'll draw a line under it, unless something pops up in the future.

Thanks again folks.

Steve.

Thomas is stated as a butcher in all of his offspring's cert's, interestingly he says he is a labourer when he remarries.

The only death I can see for a Barbara [assuming she didn't remarry] is 1897 Islington, aged 81y., giving a YoB c1816.

Re: Thomas Ives. 1783. Great Missenden, Bucks.

Hi Geoff,

that death in 1897 for a Barbara Ives, not her as that one was married to a Joseph Ives and they are both in London workhouse from 1885/6, Joseph died and Barbara is in/out up to 1890's..

we need a Barbara Clarke b 1794 +- with father Thomas Clarke as per her 1843 marriage cert - both Thomas & Barbara's father's were dec on cert.
