Margaret Hanning

Can anyone help me with Margaret?

born : abt 1835
died : 1873

She married Edward Oldfield in Tamboroora in 1854

V1854 48 100/1854 - Edward OFYILD (Ofield) - Protestant = Margaret HANNING - Catholic

Did she emigrate from Ireland with family?

Gail

Re: Margaret Hanning

Have no death certificate.

Other family trees have her birth in County Clare, Ireland and death as 3 Aug 1873 at Black Creek, NSW. Edward Oldfield's death is also 3 Aug 1873.

Only Margaret Oldfield in NSW BDM is George Benjamin Oldfield's wife.

Rebecca Ryan nee Oldfield (b:1855-6 --d:1921) was their daughter.
Her marriage and death certificate has Margaret's maiden name as HANNAN.

This branch of family has been hard to trace

OLDFIELD EDWARD
AGE 50 YEARS
DIED MURRURUNDI
MURRURUNDI

I cannot find a death index for Margaret

A maybe for a passenger list

HANNING Margaret -

When i looked at the list Margaret's age is noted as 24 and is Roman Catholic and her native place is Tipperary.

Re: Margaret Hanning

Yes it's annoying, so how do people get that information for the family tree

My information came from the 'Simon Freebody' site.
It says that James Edward Oldfield married Margaret Hanning, but there is no mention of Rebecca's birth.

That Margaret Hanning is about 18yrs older than mine---so maybe she had Margaret illegitimate

County Clare is almost next to Tipperary!

Re: Margaret Hanning

One tree cares not to copy all the others and has Margaret's death as 1889 Parramatta but that may not be correct. I can't find anything to prove it either way yet.

There are quite a few death reg that can't be found in NSW. I have some in my tree. Not registered or reg lost or badly transcribed.

Re: Margaret Hanning

One of my great uncles was born in Limerick. I have a copy of his birth certificate. Shipping record says Tipperary.

His brother was born in Waterford and I have his birth certificate also. Shipping record says Tipperary. They came together.
