Re: Miriam WARD

Birth 4788/1856 WOODWARD EMILY R - ROBERT - MARGARET - GOULBURN

Birth 7256/1858 WOODWARD SAMUEL F - ROBERT W - MARGARET - GOULBURN

I can't look this one up being a Volume past 123 so don't know if it is Wesleyan.

V18561342 155/1856 WOODWARD EMILY R - ROBERT W - MARGARET

Baptism not on FS.

Still not sure if there are 2x Robert & Margaret. Will I ever be sure?

Two with Robert W are CofE and one for sure with just Robert is Wesleyan.

Re: Miriam WARD

Wesleyan
The Methodist (Sydney, NSW) - Sat 6 Apr 1935 p.8
GOLDEN WEDDING.
PETERSON - WOODWARD.-April 6th, 1885, in the Gunning Methodist Church, by Rev. Joseph Parker, George Henry Peterson, to Elizabeth Anne Woodward. Present address: 20 Ettalong Road, Dulwich Hill.

Birth 14210/1860 WOODWARD ELIZABETH A - ROBERT W - MARGARET - YASS * 12 Aug 1860

ELIZABETH ANN PETERSON Age 85 - 1/08/1946 Zone F Methodist New 02AW 29

Does not fit the pattern. The Robert W were CofE.

If it's one family why omit the W sometimes and why Wesleyan sometimes and CofE other times.

Re: Miriam WARD

Thanks Val.

That's probably the answer. Very odd that in the Wesleyan baptism Robert is a blacksmith but then a few years later it's CofE and he is not a blacksmith. Several Wesleyan chapels in Sydney in early 1850s so rather odd having two CofE.

I read the image on the marriage as Thomas a printer.

Dave
