First names: John
Born: 1859 At:
Died: 3 May 1941 At:

With Thomas dying in 1897 i have been told he would most likely be buried at that cemetery also tho he isnt noted online.

Re: The AITKEN brothers

Thanks gibbo.

I think the shipping record is correct and the parents are James & Isabella. I think the informant mixed up the fathers - Margaret's father is Robert.

Perhaps the age in the shipping record is not accurate. I've been using it to try and find the brothers. Born 1817 is very different for Thomas.

I think the 1817 has been calculated from the age at death. That may not be reliable either.

Re: The AITKEN brothers

One more curious thing - Janet CAIRNS is listed as age 9 in 1841 but parents didn't marry until 11 Nov 1837.

She has not been found in 1851 yet. She married as CAIRNS not her mother's name of DRAPER.

Re: The AITKEN brothers

Apparently Thomas Aitken and Margaret Storey have a daughter buried in Charters Towers.
Found this on a tree

Isabella Borthwick Covington (born Aitken)
Born: Dec 26 1854
In: Colinton, Queensland, Australia
Died:Jan 16 1935 (at age 80)
In: Charters Towers, Queensland, Australia

Re: The AITKEN brothers

It's the other AITKENs.

Birth 1856/B0031 Aitken Isabella Margaret Bothwick - George - Janet Cairnes

So what have I missed? Are we wrong to assume they are brothers?

If Isabella BORTHWICK is correct on George's death reg then did she marry Robert or James?

I can find no AITKEN & BORTHWICK marriage 1801 - 1830

Re: The AITKEN brothers

I have not entered any of the AITKEN children. The branch stops with Thomas and George.
