1874 Baptism Sponsors

Mummel Farmer John Regan
...................... J ? H ? ... ? Regan
Wheeo Farmer John Ryan

The J in John is different to the J in Julia. Does it start with a J or H or ... ? Example of H in Hotel Keeper a bit lower.

Thanks.

Re: 1874 Baptism Sponsors

My money is with a J then an o but this one is very difficult Dave. Jopelina is the nearest I can make it and may be way off.

Re: 1874 Baptism Sponsors

Thanks Barbara.

Baptism of the youngest of 13 children. I don't have all the baptisms but I do have a few more images to look at.

Regan is a rather common name in NSW. Mary and Margaret are common but can be ruled out.

Re: 1874 Baptism Sponsors

I have the images for 1872 and 1870 baptisms of two more of the 13 children. Different sponsors.

Found another baptism 3 days after the burial in 1869. Different sponsors.

Don't know yet which one is correct.

Next one to look at is 1867. Different sponsors again.

Re: 1874 Baptism Sponsors

Thanks Steve.

That is correct.

The given name of the female above Julia is the problem.

I've just checked the 1865 and yet again a different set of sponsors. Can't find a repeat of the one giving trouble. I have 1864, 1861 and 1859 still to do.

Dave

Re: 1874 Baptism Sponsors

Thanks Steve.

It does look like it ends in ia.

I will look at all the Regans in NSW BDM and check the given names.

Re: 1874 Baptism Sponsors

Going through the Regan names and not listing the short ones such as Mary and Sarah

Catherine
Charlotte
Johanna
Honoria
Hannah

Not Mary Jane.

I'm stuck.
