Re: Agnes WRIGHT

Question: How can Agnes be in two places in 1841 census?

The index death entry shows Agnes married William Malcolm and James Struthers.

Census shows Torthorwald, Dumfriesshire which fits with baptism. Parents are in 1841 with an Agnes but does not indicate that one is a daughter.

This is no help:

1851
Piece: SCT1851/644 Place: Gorbals -Lanarkshire Enumeration District: 22
Civil Parish: Tradeston Ecclesiastical Parish, Village or Island: -
Folio: 621 Page: 6 Schedule: 25
Address: 12 Nelson Street
Surname First name(s) Rel Status Sex Age Occupation Where Born Remarks
MALCOLM William Head M M 33 Joiner (Journeyman) Ayrshire - Largs
MALCOLM Agnes Wife M F 35 Ayrshire - Largs ??
MALCOLM Mary Dau U F 9 Ayrshire - Largs
MALCOLM Janet Dau U F 7 Ayrshire - Largs
Page: 7
MALCOLM Mary Mother W F 56 Ayrshire - Largs
MALCOLM Alexander Brothr U M 15 Apprentice Boiler Maker Ayrshire - Largs
MALCOLM John Lodger U M 25 Warper Ayrshire - Largs

We need a baptism for another Agnes.

Re: Agnes WRIGHT

Name: Agnes Crawford Wright
Gender: Female
Christening Date: 19 Sep 1814
Christening Place: , DUMFRIES, DUMFRIES, SCOTLAND
Father's Name: James Wright
Batch: C195241

If it's that one why would 26 or 27 be rounded down to 20?

Re: Agnes WRIGHT

If the 1841 census is correct and Agnes was born in Largs then marriage in Largs makes sense.

But the death record has Malcolm and Struthers and later pob is not Largs.

Re: Agnes WRIGHT

Mary Wright
christening: 7 Jan 1810 Torthorwald, Dumfries
father: Peter Wright

Ok, so Agnes in 1841 is the daughter of David & Margaret and not the one who married William & James.

So Agnes in 1841 with William was not born Largs.
