Re: Three missing 'Horobin/Horabin/Horrobin' births

October falls in the 4th quarter of the year as per the birth registration so I would say it is the correct birth/baptism. Charles's occupation fits with that given in the 1901 Census. As to Eleanor/Helena it's all down to what the person writing it down hears. Both names sound pretty much the same.

Hi,

50/50 whether its Charlotte or not. The only way to know is to obtain the birth certificate. Thats the only advice I can give.

Re: Three missing 'Horobin/Horabin/Horrobin' births

I think I may have found Isabella's death, in September 1950 in Lancashire. Strange if so, since her children were in an orphanage/children's hospital in 1911. Guess maybe she couldn't afford to keep them after Charles died, sad.

Re: Three missing 'Horobin/Horabin/Horrobin' births

I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone in this thread. People's contributions helped me to uncover a long-time family mystery of who the children's parents were, and then why the children were in an orphanage when Isabella (their mother) was still alive. After this thread I searched for her on the 1939 register and found she was incarcerated at a mental hospital...! I had no idea! So thank you.

I was wondering if someone could lastly help me find Isabella Bridson/Brideston's birth? On the 1939 register, her birth year is listed as 1877, but on census records and her marriage certificate, it says her birth year is around 1873 in Liverpool. Her father was James Bridson, who was a carpenter; and deceased by 1900. On Isabella's marriage certificate, it says her birth year was 1879. I couldn't find any Isabella born between those years in Liverpool, only a "Bell Bridson" born 1873 in Liverpool, to a James and Charlotte Bridson. I was just wondering if anyone else could find anything, or is this likely to be it? I searched the census records for James, Charlotte and "Bell" in 1881 and 1891, but couldn't find anything.

Re: Three missing 'Horobin/Horabin/Horrobin' births

Hi,

No luck with James, Charlotte or Isabella 1881 or 1891. There are a couple of James and Charlottes children on the 1881 census. The family are under Brideson on the familysearch site in 1871.

I think I have found James dying in Toxteth Park region in 1873. I guess Charlotte and Bell/Isabella disappeared for a bit...odd!
