I found a possible death in 1899 and Charles and Isabella married in 1900. You'd need to get the death and marriage certs to prove/disprove that theory.

Oh wow, so you think that Charlotte was born from the first marriage; and that Benjamin and Eleanor/Ellen/Helena were born from the second?

Re: Three missing 'Horobin/Horabin/Horrobin' births

Ben and Eleanor have mmn Bridson so I would say they are definitely isabella's children. I can't find a birth ref for Charlotte so don't know the mmn to say who the mother is.

Re: Three missing 'Horobin/Horabin/Horrobin' births

If that is your Charles in the poor house ,likely through bad health, then there should be a Poor Relief Record

POOR LAW AND WORKHOUSE RECORDS - Former …

http://www.childrenscottagehomes.org...leyroleaflet1… · DOC file · Web view

POOR LAW AND WORKHOUSE RECORDS ... Liverpool Record Office holds the records of Liverpool Civil ... Records relating to the poor relief

Some of them has very good info .

That birth for Eleanor will have parents on it.

Re: Three missing 'Horobin/Horabin/Horrobin' births

I can't see them having a church marriage, if it is a second marriage for Charles, and money comes into play with at least 2 children.

Wow, thank you so much! So you think this is very likely to be the wedding? Both Charles' and Isabella's birth dates are slightly different from the census record of 1901.

Do you think this is likely to be her? It seems to fit the context, seems like Charles may have been having an affair with Isabella before he married her...and produced Charlotte during the affair? Maybe she was able to take the name Horabin as her surname after her parents married?

On Ancestry, I found a baptism for 'Helena Horobin', parents Charles and Isabella Horobin. The baptism was October 15th 1902, with her birth date as 3rd Oct. It says Charles' job was a fireman. Do you think this is correct, or do you think the entry you found is more likely to be correct?
