Martha ARMITAGE

Hello,

Deaths Mar 1881
ARMITAGE Martha 58 Huddersfield 9a 277

I'd like a look up please for any unmarried Martha in 1871 that might fit assuming born Almondbury/ Holmfirth/ Huddersfield/ Kirtheaton/ Kirkburton/ Newsome areas.

Regards,

Dave

Re: Martha ARMITAGE

Hi Dave,

I can find 5 Martha Armitages in Yorkshire in 1871. All born within 5 years of 1823 and four are married and one is a widow. Not a spinster in sight.

Re: Martha ARMITAGE

Hello Emeltee,

Thank you very much.

Perhaps Martha married an ARMITAGE. No, rule that out.

Re: Martha ARMITAGE

Deaths Sep 1861
Armitage Martha Huddersfield 9a 239

Deaths Dec 1863
Armitage Martha Huddersfield 9a 20[08]

Both already ruled out:

The one buried in 1861 was aged 2 and the one buried in 1863 was 78.

And this one ruled out:

Deaths Sep 1871
Armitage Martha 42 Huddersfield 9a 247

Martha aged 42 was buried on 8 July 1871 at st John the Evangelist, Golcar. Abode: Golcar

So need to prove this one is married to rule her out leaving no death that fits.

Re: Martha ARMITAGE

Hello Julie,

Thanks.

So we are left with Martha born 1824 Almondbury, unmarried and living in Newsome in 1861 but can't be found in 1871 and no death 1861-1871 that fits.

Baptised 14.3.1824 Martha Armitage d/o James, a mason & Betty (nee Oxley) abode: Newsome

Regards,

Dave
