PROCTOR family

Hello,

This family is a bit harder to trace.

Marriages Mar 1855
PROCTOR Benjamin Spalding 7a 367
Louth Charlotte Spalding 7a 367

PROCTOR Benjamin 23 Constitution 1855 Sydney and/or Newcastle and wife Reel 2137, [4/4792]; Reel 2469, [4/4947]
PROCTOR Charlotte 22 Constitution 1855 Sydney and/or Newcastle and husband Reel 2137, [4/4792]; Reel 2469, [4/4947]

Arrived 27 May 1855
Benjamin 23 Labourer Waplote Lincolnshire George & Maria both living at... Wesleyan Both A Brother-in-law Joseph Earl living at Cobety Paddock nr. Camden Good None

Charlotte 22 Braytoft Lincolnshire William & Jane both living at Sibsey Wesleyan Both None

Cobety = Cobbitty
Waplote = Whaplode [Holbeach RD]
Brayloft = Bratoft [Spilsby RD]
Sibsey = Sibsey [Boston RD]

Where to start? Both sets of parents are alive as of 1851 census but may not be by 1861.

I'll look for the two marriages first. Can't find either in FS.

Regards,

Dave

Jane will be harder to trace.

I'd like a look up please for William and Jane LOUTH in 1851 and 1861.

Re: PROCTOR family

Hi Dave,

Bit more of a challenge this time. I've got them in 1851 but there is no sign of them or the two children from 1851 in the 1861 Census. Anyway courtesy of TNA

1851
HO107/2099/F494/p12
Lincoln Lane, Boston

William Louth 52 Head farm Labourer Addlethorp, Lincs
Jane Louth 51 wife Croft Marsh, Lincs
John Henry 9 son Bratoft, Lincs
Emily 5 dau Newark, Notts
Robert Morris 23 Lodger Engineer London

Hopefully another gap filled!

Emeltee

Re: PROCTOR family

Hello Emeltee,

Thanks. Yes, another gap filled. I had no parents until earlier today. I looked up the shipping record on film at the library and got parents for Benjamin and Charlotte. Started on the LOUTH family being not so common a name. Probably in 1861 under some weird variation.

Regards,

Dave
