Re: Thomas MURDOCH & Mary KIRCHEN

The 1918 death is that of John junior.

So, a death for John who arrived in 1838.

14396/1895 MURDOCK JOHN THOMAS MARY TARALGA ** 2 Nov

So far can't see a notice in TROVE.

Re: Thomas MURDOCH & Mary KIRCHEN

I found this post by accident and realised that someone has put information about the Murdoch's from my family. Reverend John Murdoch is my 5xGreat Grandfather in Islay. And the Thomas Murdoch mentioned here if a Great Grand Uncle and is son of John's brother Thomas. This Thomas was born 8 December 1860 in Taralga NSW. It was his father John Murdoch who came to Australia on the "Merlin" in 1838. I have a lot of documentation on the family, happy to share if needed. Regards

Re: Thomas MURDOCH & Mary KIRCHEN

Hello and to the Forum.

Thanks for the details.

I'll have to refresh my memory on this one. It's well off any of my main lines so not sure why it's on a remote branch of my tree until I check.

Dave

Re: Thomas MURDOCH & Mary KIRCHEN

In my tree by this marriage to Roy and several other Clifton marriages:

5418/1924 MURDOCH DONALD R - CLIFTON ETHEL - CANTERBURY ** 26 Apr

I'm also not a Clifton descendant. My connection is the Furner family.

Re: Thomas MURDOCH & Mary KIRCHEN

Yes I have the marriage certificate for John and Susannah. Your Thomas is an older Brother to my John Murdoch who married Isabella Catherine McKinnon.

I thought from the other posts that someone was thinking that this Thomas came to Australia, but he was born here. Just wanted to let them know this.

Re: Thomas MURDOCH & Mary KIRCHEN

Thanks.

Birth 7323/1861 MURDOCK THOMAS - JOHN - SUSANNAH - GOULBURN ** just 1861 ?

NSW BMD returns the record for any date in 1861. Yet it returns this record only with the specific date. I've found lots of errors in the index.

Birth 1456/1858 KIRCHEN MARY - MICHAEL - MARGARET - SYDNEY ** 6 July
