Nice commemoration, Gibbo..

He was only in NSW a short time before he joined the war effort.. Then died a year or so later... Very sad.

Re: Alfred Edward King. 1894. High Wycombe, Bucks.

WOW....you have been busy bees.

Ok, here's what I've found so far in Bucks.

James Wingrove marries Sophia Cox, 8 Mar 1845 @ St Mary's, High Wycombe. (CORRECTED from 1848. Duuuh.!!).

Sophia Wingrove marries Thomas Chilton, 1848, Wycombe dist.(This marriage does not show in BucksFHS Church Finder)......which means it would be a Registry office/Registrar event.

Thomas Chilton was born Amersham, and not Ludgershall, like most other trees.

Sophia/Sophy Cox c1814. Iver, Bucks. Parents were Thomas & Elizabeth Cox.

I'm waiting on the marriage to James Wingrove to confirm the fathers names. Also his baptism and possible burial, to confirm.

Thanks a lot for all this, just hope it all pans out, wel......most of it will, I suspect.

Thanks MLT, for getting me on this trail, and for the rest of you carrying on the journey.

Steve.

Oh dear....if he's dead in 1847, he can't have married in 1848.

Re: Alfred Edward King. 1894. High Wycombe, Bucks.

Thomas Chilton was baptised, 28 Apr 1816, St Mary's, Amersham, to Thomas Chilton & Fanny(nee. Lane).

It appears all his siblings were a bit late with their baptisms.
